1-Minute Makeovers

1-Minute Makeovers
A makeover isn’t always about chopping off all your hair or jumping on the pink-hair bandwagon. It’s usually the simple tweaks that can make all the difference. If you find yourself looking to change things up a bit, try one of these 1-minute makeovers.
1. Slick on a shock of hot pink lipstick for an instant wake-up.
2. Pink feel too Malibu Barbie? A rich red has the same effect.
3. Try a colored gloss or lip lacquer in lieu of a cream formula. Shiny, vinyl lips make a major impact.
5. “Lining the inner rim of the eye is a great way to add a little bit of what I like to call ‘instant fierceness’!”
6. Fake high cheekbones: swipe highlighter along the tops of your cheeks. Contour the hollows with matte powder bronzer.
7. Switch out your black mascara for a plum or turquoise shade on your lower lashes for a subtle color pop.
8. Use an eye shadow brush to coat your eyelashes with translucent face powder, then apply mascara on top. The powder helps to bulk up lashes for instant volume.

Mani Talk:

Mani Talk:
To make your manicure last, apply a thin layer of clear every two days. Pay particular attention to the free edge at the top of your nails, where chips usually happen, and apply extra clear polish there.

5 New Year's Eve Makeup Ideas

5 New Year's Eve Makeup Ideas

Look your best for the biggest night of the year! Here's the complete how-to on five high impact star looks.Shiny Red Lips Embrace the New Year with a bold new hue. Taylor Swift's makeup artist Lorrie Turk keeps the eyes simple-save for many coats of lush mascara and a bit of icy shadow-to prevent the star from looking overdone.

DARK NEUTRALS
If you're wearing a metallic dress like Kerry Washington, why not highlight your face and eyes with similar moody tones? (That's exactly what her makeup artist Sam Fine did here!) A warm, bronzey canvas was his starting point: "I always choose bronzer one shade deeper than the complexion to add dimension. I love to contour the forehead, cheeks and sides of the nose."

PEACHY GLOW AND LUSH LASHES
You don't need pounds of makeup to make a statement. In fact, pastels are a fresh, unexpected choice during winter months. Makeup artist Melanie Inglessis, who created this look for Olivia Wilde, says she went for "soft glowing skin and amazing eyelashes."

DRAMATIC PINK
Red lips are are the obvious choice with LDB's. Makeup artist Hugh Vanngo added an element of surprise by giving Camilla Belle a striking pink lip. "Camilla is always open to play with makeup," he says.

FROST AND ICE
"I wanted Carey to really stand out," her makeup artist Georgie Eisdell told us. "I wanted it to be all eyes, eyebrows and perfect skin-but minimal color." A wash of lightweight foundation and a dusting of translucent powder perfected Mulligan's complexion.
