1. Embrace Your Texture
One of the best ways to fight the effects of humidity is to not fight it. Wearing your hair in it’s most natural state (i.e. wash-n-gos) is probably the easiest way to manage your hair during more humid weather. Reversion or shrinkage is no longer an issue when letting your hair run free. If you’d like a little extra security at keeping the frizzies at bay, be sure to let your hair dry before ENTERING the humid climate outdoors.
2. Use a smoothing/glossing serum
When styling your hair, look for assistance from products with dimethicone/dimethiconol silicons. These silicons will coat the hair creating a barrier against the humidity in order to reduce reversion, skrinkage, and frizz. Keep in mind, however, that these silicons do not dissolve in water and can lead to build up over CONTINUED use so be sure to regularly shampoo to keep locks squeaky clean when using these products.
4. Wear a scarf/headband
On really humid days instead of working your butt off to fight inevitable frizz, throw your hair up in a cute high, low, or side bun! Who wants their hair down around their neck and shoulders on ridiculously hot days anyways? Add a scarf or headband to HELP tame any fly-aways and you’ll look uber-chic for any sticky, hot weather that may come your way.
