Tree Oil!

WHAT YOU NEED:
5/6 rose petals, plucked and rinsed
Distilled water
Ice cubes
Juice of 3 very small lemons or 1 large one
3 drops of tea tree essential oil
A small bowl
1 pot with a lid
STEP1:
Fill a pot with distilled water and place a glass or ceramic bowl in the middle of it. Make sure that the water is not excessive as it may tip over the bowl. The water should not entirely cover the rose petals as this may reduce the potency of the rose water .
STEP 2:
Pluck off the rose petals from the stems and rinse them Then ARRANGE them inside the pot, in the water but not inside the bowl, the bowl should remain empty.
STEP 3: Cover the pot with a lid turned upside down, preferably a dome shaped lid, so that the condensed liquid will easily tip into the bowl. Cover the lid with ice and turn on your stove on medium heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes. Drain and replace the ice every so often. The cooling that the ice does to the lid HELPS the condensation process.
STEP4: After petals have lost their colour, turn off the heat. The liquid collected in the bowl is rose water formed from the precipitate of the boiling petal’s steam. Collect this and do not use the liquid in the pot from where the petals were boiling. This is because often roses are dyed and some of this colour is what is left in the pot and we do not want this in our bodies. You may opt to grow your own un- dyded roses and use them instead, but as a cautionary method, no not use this liquid, only the liquid in the bowl. Set the rose water aside to cool and squeeze and sieve the juice of your lemons and set aside. I had about 50 ml of rose water and 30 ml of lemon juice.
STEP5:
Mix the rose water and lemon juice and sieve into a small glass or plastic bottle, preferably a semi- opaque one to last preservation. Add 3-4 drops of tea tree essential oil, shake, and you have a HOME made, natural face toner!
